Excellent history book! I really love this book! The facts are well presented without feeling like a dry textbook yet it is very informative. The images truly help bring the text to life and I honestly found myself not wanting to put it down. This is the type of resource that makes history come to life.

Fun History Addition! Our family loves all the books in this series, and this one is no exception! We really enjoy the brief, yet interesting biographies of interesting people. I like how the author chose some well-known presidents, but also added in a few that we don’t tend to study in depth. I also appreciate how each president’s faith in God is reflected in the story. This series is a great addition to a morning basket, and we enjoy adding them in to supplement our American History studies.

Yes! This is great! Such a great resource kit for history. Each book stands alone which makes it feel less overwhelming. Great material covered which makes it fun and engaging for the kids.

Extraordinary Animal Heroes is a fantastic read for those who love animals and want to know their contribution throughout history. This book is a great companion to historical topics covered in social studies and will really make history come to life for students who love animals! My daughter is thrilled with this book!

Early Church Fathers

Inspiring! Early Church Fathers is an encouraging and inspiring book of stories about 10 brave men who played a big part in the history of church. These men sacrificed the comfort and some of them even their lives for Christ. This is a great supplement to the study of the history of the church. It can also be used in many different ways even as a reader for language arts. Marilyn Boyer did a great job, as always, putting the stories in an easy to understand way.

Inspirational Intro to Church Fathers

We’ve been using this as a read aloud while my elementary students build with legos or play with math manipulatives. I was surprised at how well they paid attention and retained the information. I also really like the integrated scripture, as it gave opportunity to call back verses they may have come across in the past or begin hiding new truths in their heart. The 4 year old even joined in quoting John 3:16 with Us.

Missionaries for Christ

Great inspiration! It has always fascinated me to learn about the people who spread the Gospel far and wide. This books gives such beautiful details about the lives of those who have done it. It’s a great inspiration and encouragement to read all the different stories and the variety of lives lived. It is incredible to learn about the people God has chosen and that have headed His call to be missionaries.

Extraordinary Animal Heroes

This book is such a wonderful read. My son loves animal hero books but finding just the right one can be tricky. This book was such a great addition to our bookshelf. It made us want to go out and buy a dog, or a pigeon… just the desire to have a pet in general. This book would make a great resource book to go along with a history curriculum. It amazes me how intricately God has designed animals to be and how they really are designed to work along side man.

Inventors and Scientists

This is an excellent resource to learn about historical scientists and inventors. I appreciate how the author takes time to share details about each person's life that may not otherwise be known. I also like how throughout each chapter as new terminology is introduced, there is a side bar that defines the words so one can stay engaged with the reading and not wonder what something means.

Brings history to life! These are fascinating stories that bring history to life from a “living history” perspective! Each story highlights the courage and character of the hero and teaches history in a way that will stick in your mind without even realizing you're learning. For instance, we felt like we were dropped down into Lydia Darraugh’s home as we breathlessly followed her courageous exploits to relay crucial information to General Washington!

What a Character Readers

Kids of ALL ages love these! I have ages 13 down to age 5 and they all love to listen to me read these. Excellent books, I can't recommend them enough!

Very Engaging Stories! This 'What a Character!' series is simply amazing for all ages. My kids are loving reading the books, not realizing how much history they are learning in the process. I've learned so much about the character of different people in history that I can now see through a new light. This book is very engaging and has lots of pictures intertwined within the text to help keep little readers/listeners engaged while still providing rich text to keep the attention of an active reader.

Famous Preachers and Evangelists

This is the second book of the series, and much like the first book my kids and I loved it. My son (who is almost 12) keeps it in the car so he can read it when we are on our way somewhere, waiting for a pickup order, or mom talks too much and he's sitting in the car. This book is his current favorite.

So interesting! My 7 and 10 year olds really enjoyed this book. The learned all about the courage and sacrifice these brave men and women had while helping our country. They keep asking for just one more chapter--these books are hard to put down!
